Residence Makrina Overview

Residence Makrina is a Deluxe Suite with a private pool within a small boutique complex nestled in a privileged rural location near Paliouri in the south-east of the Halkidiki peninsula of Kassandra.

Are you looking for the perfect relaxing holiday with wall to wall Mediterranean sunshine, your own private pool and fabulous local food? Residence Makrina is just what you are looking for.

With fabulous sea views and its own private swimming pool, your Residence can accommodate up to 6 guests. This incredible property is extremely well designed to afford you the privacy you want when relaxing on the terrace or when lounging by your private pool.

Decorated throughout in white with marble floors the stylish accommodation comprises of an open plan lounge with large comfortable sofas (which can both be converted to single beds), occasional tables and chairs. The centrepiece of the living space is a large round pillar which, along with the marble floor, reflects traditional Greek architecture in a very modern way. This fabulous room also houses the food creation space, fully fitted with everything you would need to cook at home, (there are so many fabulous tavernas and restaurants nearby you may find you hardly use it!) and the indoor dining area.

There are two fabulous double bedrooms - one of them has direct access to the pool terrace and features a sleek open-plan en-suite bathroom with a deep soaking bathtub and rain shower.

The huge furnished terrace which can be accessed from the lounge and master bedroom has a covered dining area with seating for 6, very cleverly situated to make the very best of the fabulous views over Toroneos Bay toward Mount Athos, they really are truly magnificent. The terrace continues the marble tile theme but also has areas of grass which look fabulous next to the pool and its incredible upsized loungers.

The area around the complex is immaculately maintained, areas of lush green grass interspersed with flower beds and gentle paving. There is a large freshwater swimming pool and a bar serving drinks and snacks should you wish to socialise with other guests or stop by to allow children to burn off excess energy and make friends of their own.

Residence Makrina Location

Halkidiki is a strangely shaped area of Greece, famous for its three peninsulas and wonderful beaches. Located in the very south-east of the first peninsula of Kassandra, Residence Makrina sits only a few metres back from its golden shores overlooking Toroneos Bay to the ancient city of Toroni on the west side of Sithonia, the middle finger of the Halkidiki peninsula. The third finger is that of Athos a monastic community closed to females, except of the cat variety! Apparently, they are needed to control the population of mice!

The small private beach - shared with the other resort guests - is located just a few minutes walk from your villa, and you will find it quiet with nothing but your lounger, sand, sea and sun, should you take a stroll along the beach you will come upon a fun beach bar. The coastline of Kassandra is famous for its fabulous beaches, so you won’t have to travel far to find a busier one.

Chroussou is the closest of the organised beaches, and perhaps the best beach in Kassandra! Its wide crescent of golden sand backed by pine-clad hills and shallow waters edge make it ideal for children.
It does get very busy during the height of the season. It is very popular for its beach bars with guest DJ’s hosting all-night parties, so, if you want to dance ‘til dawn and not have too far to walk home, this could be lots of fun.

The village of Paliouri itself is worth spending a little time on; it would be a pity to miss out on its medieval architecture, narrow streets, tavernas and café’s, colourful gardens and lemon trees. There are some fabulous shops selling souvenirs, local breads, cakes, and fresh produce.

If you can, set aside a day of your time here in Kassandra to take a boat trip. There are many on offer some allowing for time to swim and snorkel from the boat at lunchtime. There really is no better way to see the stunning coastline of the three peninsulas of Halkidiki. Many of these trips take you around Sithonia to view the monastic community on Mount Athos, commonly known as the Holy Mountain.
