Description of Villa Zuri

5 Bedrooms, 5 Bathrooms

Villa Zuri Overview

An idyllic Corfu villa that’s full of character, the 5-bedroom Villa Zuri also occupies the most wonderful beachside location. Situated on a private estate, itself situated on an olive grove, this beautiful villa comes with its own delightful gardens and private pool just steps away from the sand.

Villa Zuri is just a few minutes’ drive from Lefkimmi in southern Corfu. With room for up to 10 adults and 2 children, this villa exudes a serene feel. The villa has its own private entrance to the beach where you will have use of sunbeds and your own beach gazebo for dining and relaxing.

The olive trees lend shade to the superb pool area with poolside sun loungers and an outdoor dining space. Another terrace can be found on the upper floor of the house, providing further space for blissful relaxation.

Inside the house, you have a living room and dining room with direct access from the pool terrace, as well as a kitchen with a dishwasher, Nespresso machine, microwave and many more appliances.  The house is also equipped with LCD TVs, Wi-Fi and a games console, plus it’s fully air conditioned.

Over two floors, there are five bedrooms at Villa Zuri. On the ground floor, you have a master bedroom and two guest rooms – one double and a twin. The upper floor has two more master bedrooms with balcony, as well as a mezzanine-level guest room with a double bed and twin beds – ideal as a family room. All bedrooms have their own well-appointed en suite bathroom.

Just a few minutes’ drive from the villa, the small town of Lefkimmi offers restaurants and cafés, and useful amenities including a supermarket, post office and bank. Buses run regularly from Lefkimmi which can take you to the capital, Corfu Town.

Corfu Town is a real must-see, its grand buildings and varied European influences creating a place that’s a joy to discover. Look out for the grand Spianada with its elegant gardens, the covered café terrace of the Liston and the Palace of St Michael and St George – just some of Corfu’s surprising and fascinating sights.

Villa Zuri Location

If you’re looking for a taste of the real Corfu, Lefkimmi is a good place to start. This small southern town hasn’t been overdeveloped with tourists in mind, but you will find the things you need. There are several restaurants within a short walk of each other, and it’s only a few minutes’ drive to the nearest beaches, Alikes and Bouka Beach among them.

You will find quaint villages and areas of natural beauty all over the island, and there are plenty more beaches along the way. Several are ranked among the best in Greece. Paleokastritsa, Myrtiotissa and Kavos are all on the list, the latter being the most popular beach in the south of the island. It’s only a 15-minute drive from Lefkimmi and offers beach bars and sporting activities.

Head up to Corfu Town and experience the island’s enchanting capital. Be sure to stop by the Spianada – it’s a spot everyone knows. The landscaped gardens and bandstand of this seafront square give it a little grandeur, something it shares with its neighbour, the Liston. This covered gallery of café terraces is the place to be in Corfu. You should definitely treat yourself to a visit while you’re in town. The Spianada sometimes hosts live music performances and entertainment too.

Make some time to see the nearby Old Fortress – it will reward you with some wonderful views once you have made the considerable climb to the top. Another of Corfu’s most notable buildings is the 19th-century Palace of St Michael and St George, originally built as the residence of the British High Commissioner during a period of British rule. If heritage is your thing, a tour of the palace is a must. The excellent Museum of Asian Art now occupies part of the building and, after almost 100 years in existence, has around 15,000 intriguing pieces in its collection.

Corfu has numerous churches, some of which have interesting art collections of their own, like the Byzantine Church of St Jason & St Sosipater. The church with the red dome you may spot is Saint Spyridon’s Church, where the Corfu’s patron saint was laid to rest – it’s notable for its painted ceiling and the tallest bell tower on the island. You can see the work of local artists down the centuries at the Municipal Gallery, also found at the Palace of St Michael and St George, while the Archaeological Museum is the place if you want to go back even further in time.

The Campiello, as the medieval quarter of the town is known, is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s as jumbled and eclectic as you would hope it to be, with narrow streets and hidden squares, feeling like a little bit of Italy on a Greek island.
