3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms

Villa Mastihari Overview

If you are looking for shabby-chic charm and personality, you will certainly find it at Villa Mastihari. This idyllic, blue and white beauty has three bedrooms sleeping, six guests. With one set of bunk beds, this is an ideal villa for a family. The villa enjoys a privileged position just 100m from the seafront in the chilled-out, peaceful fishing village of Mastichari on the north coast of Kos island.

Mastichari is a superb destination on the fabulous island of Kos. It is super cool with the most amazing seafood restaurants that it prides itself on. The fish goes straight from the harbour to the friendly tavernas. The gently-shelving silver 5km shoreline leads to toasty warm azure water where you have fantastic opportunities to learn to kitesurf or windsurf. The relaxed, tranquil ambience ensures a wonderful, therapeutic holiday.

Villa Mastihari oozes charm. It is absolutely gorgeous, with many little touches that make you know that love has been poured into it. On the ground floor, you will find one double bedroom as well as an appealing, modern, cosy, blue and white kitchen and dining space which flows into the comfortable living space.

Upstairs you will find the remaining two bedrooms and bathrooms. One is a fun bunk room and the other a delightful double. The balcony and roof terrace on the first floor offers incredible panoramic views to the sea as well as outdoor furniture and a fabulous jacuzzi. What a magical spot to have a drink, laze in the jacuzzi and watch the sun go down! It is just fabulous! There is even a Bluetooth wireless speaker so that you can enjoy some music while you are relaxing. The two bathrooms are smart and trendy.

The outside space is generous in size and boasts a wonderful pool surrounded by sun loungers, a covered outdoor lounge area with alfresco dining for up to 8 guests and a lovely lush garden full of Mediterranean plants and flowers. This is a wonderful spot to relax in, and it is especially wonderful that within a few minutes you can be walking on the beach or along the promenade. There is a friendly beach bar right next to the villa. You cannot help but feel at home in this special villa.

Villa Mastihari Location

Mastichari offers a laid-back, friendly atmosphere that is conducive to rest and recuperation. The beach is a huge expanse that never seems to be crowded. Approximately one-third of it is given over to sun loungers which peter out towards the beach based water sports business. It is great fun watching the kitesurfers being challenged by the waves, even if you are not brave enough to give it a go. You can take a trip to the neighbouring island of Kalymnos from the harbour.

The arid and rocky Kalymnos attracts many climbers as well as sponge divers. Today they have a huge fishing fleet producing roughly 30000 sponges annually. The Esperidon fjord is very beautiful and captivates visitors. The valley, embroidered with tangerine and orange trees, slopes down to the waiting sapphire blue waters of the Aegean. A terrifying earthquake in 554AD sliced off a piece of Kalymnos which sunk into the water at Pothaia. Today the island of Teledos lies across from Kalymnos with ruins and vestiges of that era. You can take a boat across or swim.

Antimachia, south of Mastichari is again a charming place to visit with interesting sights such as the House of Antimachia, which shows how a traditional Greek house would have been in the early 20th century. The old traditional working windmill and the ruins of the 14th century Medieval castle of the order of the Knights of St John are equally captivating. Antimachia’s Honey Festival takes place in late August offering Greek dancing and singing to the local traditional songs as well as honey tasting. The Wine Festival takes place in early September.

The lively entertainment on Kos is found in the alluring Kos Town and Kardamena on the south coast. Kardamena is a true tourist hotspot with many bars and nightclubs. It also has a fabulous beach with many watersports. Kos Town is also buzzy, but it also has many historic archaeological buildings and ruins including Neratzia Castle.
