Villa Charoite Overview

Villa Charoite is perfect for large groups. It is a sensational Mykonian wonder with six bedroom suites and exceptional entertainment spaces, inside and out. This stunning villa is located in St. John, a short distance from Ornos Beach on the westerly peninsula of this beautiful island. It overlooks the Little Venice area of Mykonos Town with far reaching views over the countryside and sea. Villa Charoite is an absolute tribute to typical Cycladic architecture and design. It features gorgeous beamed ceilings, an abundance of lovely curves, brilliant white walls, arches, pillars, rich wooden beams and built-in fittings and furniture. Every room is incredibly spacious and even if you are a large group, there are plenty of quiet corners to enjoy your holiday read or a reflective moment.

Villa Charoite is built on two levels on a wonderful 4.5 acre plot. All but one of the bedroom suites are located on the ground floor. With fabulous open plan living spaces which flow beautifully, the villa is extremely light and airy. You leave one dreamy space for another through an arch or pillars. There are numerous doors and windows, all dressed with floaty white viole curtains, which allow the natural light to flood in.

The main living area boasts a feature fireplace, a sumptuous corner sofa, plenty of stools and coffee tables, a huge television and vibrant contemporary art. The dazzling walls are either rendered or painted stonework, all very striking and blending brilliantly with the dark roof rafters and beams. The glossy dining table and chairs are stunning in their sensational, atmospheric spot which is just off the immaculate, sparkling kitchen. Another elegant living space is tucked away, ideal for a quiet read or perhaps a family game.

The bedroom suites are heavenly, romantic spaces, all blending wood and dazzling white. There is a mix of doubles and twins. One double is located on the upper floor with its en-suite bathroom and the remainder are on the ground floor. Two are located in the main villa plus there are three studios. This is an ideal set up for groups of friends who may enjoy a little private time. Guests enjoy luxurious comfort in all of the rooms as well as terrace or balcony access.

The outdoor space is utterly divine. The enormous swimming pool is surrounded by beautiful, contemporary furnishings, boulders and mature planting. Guests are spoilt for choice of luxury loungers, double daybeds and trendy lounge corners, some sun soaked and some shaded. There is an abundance of natural stone walling which contrasts beautifully with the dazzling white exteriors of the villa and the cool blue of the pool. It is very difficult to beat the stunning exterior spaces of Villa Charoite. Guests can enjoy star gazing, sunset watching and alfresco dining. Be warned, you will not want to leave this fabulous paradise

It stands on a pretty peninsula very close to Ornos and with far reaching views over to the gorgeous Little Venice area of Mykonos Town. Ornos’ sand and pebble beach offers a few charming tavernas and bars together with a small stone harbour. Visitors enjoy taking boat rides from Ornos to explore the island’s stunning coastline and the neighbouring island of Delos. There are also fishing trips on offer. Just along the south coast are the sensational beaches of Psarou, Paraga, Paradise and Super Paradise. Just north of Ornos Beach is Paralia Korfos, just minutes from Villa Charoite.

Mykonos Town is an enchanting warren of narrow lanes covered in bougainvillea. Lined with picturesque churches, quirky art galleries, chic boutiques, jewellery shops and charming restaurants, visitors love an afternoon meander. The town’s museums, the Archaeological Museum and the Aegean Martime Museum, are fascinating. Mykonos Town’s Little Venice is one of the most romantic places on the island. It boasts elegant old houses that are precariously sitting on the edge of the sea creating a magical aura. The ethereal beauty of Little Venice is a favourite haunt of highly acclaimed artists and Instagram followers. There is an abundance of buzzy bars and pulsating clubs as well as art galleries and restaurants.

Mykonos boasts 25 spectacular beaches, much photographed sunsets, picturesque whitewashed villages and fabulous monasteries, churches and chapels. The famous beaches of Paradise and Paraga have established Mykonos as a trendy, cosmopolitan party destination. Paraga Beach boasts gorgeous silvery sand, a natural diving platform formed of rocks, sun beds and parasols and trendy beach bars. The award-winning Paradise Beach Club has been around for 50 years and offers a buzzy party scene. It attracts famous DJ’s from all over the world.

Ano Mera is a delightful shopping, dining and cultural destination. It boasts many quaint shops and cafes spilling out onto the cobbled pavements and many ancient, fascinating buildings. It is especially popular for Sunday brunch and the fresh produce market where you can buy local cheeses. Delicious Greek pastries can be bought in the bakery. The beautiful Byzantine Panagia Tourlaina Monastery was orginally founded in 1580 and is fronted by an ornate bell tower with triple bells. Its massive alter screen was made in 1775 by Florentine artists and the carved marble and wood, frescoes, crystal chandeliers and gilded pulpit are all extremely impressive. The monastery is open by appointment.
