Villa Sofos OverviewA modern masterpiece in the leafy suburbs of outside Chania, Vila Sofos is an enchanting home for a large group of friends of family!
As you arrive you’ll find tons of room for parking for the whole group, and a fantastic entrance up the striking steps. But it’s what’s inside that really makes this home! First there’s your wonderful main lounge. Fabulously open-plan, with a plush L-shaped sofa framing a superb dining table at the centre of the room, nestled into this magnificent modern kitchen! This first fabulous kitchen is here on the ground floor, providing you immediate access to your incredible garden, so you can prepare some treats and keep an eye on the kids splashing in the pool at the same time! Go one floor up and you’ll find the second, equally impressive full kitchen, with big gas hobs and a double sink, alongside a second cosy lounge, with another L-shaped sofa set in front of the TV, perfect for unwinding! A second dining area completes this open-plan space.
Six sublime bedrooms await you across the villa, each meticulously designed with the utmost care. A large TV, a writing desk and huge comfortable beds offer the perfect space for settling in for the night, penning a postcard home, or catching a few moments of peace! There’s a mixture of delightful double rooms and spacious twin rooms. Four feature an exceptional ensuite bathroom, while there are an additional two bathrooms around the villa. All have a sublime mixture of luxurious marble effects, large bathtubs, double vanity units, walk-in showers and countless other gorgeous touches.
For the ultimate relaxation, step into your spectacular garden and pop your feet up as you lounge in these gorgeous seats and sofas on the terrace. Or else settle into a lounger by the pool as you gaze out over the dazzling pool, watching the breeze rippling the glassy surface. There’s tons of loungers as well as swinging pods for truly the most idyllic time spent in the sunshine and fresh air, perhaps watching the kids frolicking on the lawn, or simply sipping a cocktail as the sun sets. To one side there’s your incredibly stylish alfresco dining area, for unforgettable meals together, and in the evening spectacular lighting brings the whole garden to life, including elegant pool lighting creating the most wonderful atmosphere.

Villa Sofos LocationTucked on the west-side of the vibrant Chania Prefecture, Villa Sofos is ideally located to enjoy both the vibrancy of a large town and the tranquillity of the countryside, as well as benefit from some of the world’s best beaches on its doorstep! 2.4km from the nearest beach, and with literally hundreds more worth a visit all dotted around this little Greek island, this is truly an idyllic location! And with restaurants and shops within walking distance, you can have a totally laid-back stay in this stunning villa!
Just 10 minutes away is Chania, the capital of Crete and one of the most famous towns of the Greek islands, particularly for its authentic culture and character and historic structures, including its beautiful Venetian Harbour. It is an incredibly well-preserved Venetian town with all kinds of medieval architecture, framing a bustling metropolis of museums, churches, narrow shopping streets, waterfront restaurants and crafts shops. Alongside the stunning coastal areas and mountainous landscapes are an array of outstanding remains and glorious buildings of an ancient era, including a picturesque harbour front and interesting Venetian lighthouse.
Chania is also the perfect location to try all kinds of local cuisine, wine and traditional feasts. For educational and historical adventures you can visit the Maritime Museum and the Archaeological Museum, or take a trip to one of the many surrounding monasteries or historical sites including the Samaria Gorge, Venizelos Graves or the unique architectural complex of Tabakaria.
To the north of the island are some of the larger beaches, while to the south are the more secluded and traditional beaches, punctuated by small seaside villages, and of course there are thousands of deserted coves and isolated bays for private enjoyment, if you look hard enough! The West Coast beaches of soft sand and coloured pebbles, such as Falasarna, are around 45 minutes away, while the South Coast beaches with beautiful crystal waters, including Sougia, are less than an hour and a half away.
As with all of the Greek islands, you can be sure of a huge welcome on Crete. A warm, passionate people and such a beautifully sociable country, both young and old will welcome you with open arms in Greece. Whether in pavement cafes, cosy restaurants or the thriving town squares, the people love nothing more than to enjoy a coffee or an ouzo in the company of the local community.
