Qatari investors Al Rayyan responded to a statement made by Deputy Foreign Minister Giorgos Katrougalos that the company’s decision to stop investing in Greece is “fake news”.

On Saturday, Al Rayyan Greece, a Qatari state company, issued a new statement as a response to the Greek minister’s claims.

“Since we find that some parties are trying to give different implications to our announcement to stop our investment in Greece, we explicitly state that we have referred to our investments in Zakynthos and Oxeia, which have been suspended due to judicial jams since 2014 and continue to this day, including the prosecution of our representatives in order to make our investment activities difficult. Beyond that, no other interpretation of our communications is acceptable,” the statement said.
