ELA ceiling lower by EUR 0.3bn

The European Central Bank continued to lower the provision of emergency ELA funding available to Greek banks by 300 million euros to 33.6 billion euros, following a request by the Bank of Greece.The decision is in effect up to and including Wednesday, October 4.

“The reduction of 0.3 billion euros in the ceiling reflects an improvement of the liquidity situation of Greek banks, taking into account private sector deposits flows,” BoG said in a statement.
