Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades, and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, have reiterated that they have a common position on the Cyprus problem, which is to reach a solution within the UN parameters.

“There is one position” Kotzias said after their meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, in New York, on Tuesday.  He added that their cooperation is an “honest and excellent” one, and that their position is a common one.

“The UN and the international community have realized that Cyprus cannot rely on third party guarantees, nor on intrusive “rights”, and I think this is one of the many achievements we achieved together with Cyprus.”, said Kotzias.

President Anastasiades said they “reviewed developments thus far, as well as the common stance we will keep so that we can achieve a solution within the United Nations resolutions, always within the parameters set by the secretary-general.”
