Greek unemployment rate eased to 21.7 pct in May

The unemployment rate in Greece eased to 21.7 pct in May from 21.8 pct in April, Eurostat said in a report released on Thursday.

In the Eurozone, the unemployment remained stable to 9.1 pct and in the EU to 7.7 pct.



A total of 18.916 million people were unemployed in the EU and 14.860 million unemployed in the Eurozone.



Greece (21.7 pct) recorded the highest unemployment followed by Spain (17.1 pct), while Czech Republic (2.9 pct), Germany (3.7 pct) and Malta (4.1 pct) recorded the lowest rates.
