European Central Bank΄s governing council lowered the borrowing ceiling for Greek banks by 1.6 billion euros, as it did not object to a Bank of Greece΄s request for an ELA-ceiling for Greek banks of 38.9 billion euros, up to and including Thursday, 7 September 2017.

The reduction of 1.6 billion euros in the ceiling reflects an improvement of the liquidity situation of Greek banks, taking into account private sector deposits flows.
