More Attacks on Riot Police in the Exarchia District of Athens

Once again violence erupted in the capital last night when hooded youth threw petrol bombs at riot police stationed in the Exarchia district of Athens.

The incident took place around 10:30 pm at the intersection of Patision and Tositsa Streets and a second attack took place shortly afterwards at the corner of Tzortz and Stournari Streets. Later, around 1 am at the intersection of Patision and Stournari Streets a third attack took place. The incident forced police to close off Patision Street until around 1:30 am.

Police detained 16 people who were later released due to lack of evidence, according to reports.
