New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said he had a “substantive and sincere” conversation with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Monday, as part of Yildirim’s visit to Athens.

The two officials discussed, among other issues, Greek-Turkish relations, migration and Cyprus. Mitsotakis said after the meeting that the two countries are obliged by their geography to live together, adding that bilateral relations must be constructive and peaceful, with cooperation. The condition for this is the real respect for international law, international rules, sincerity and the avoidance of any unnecessary provocations, he said, noting that ND supports the need to keep the channels of communication between the EU and Turkey open.Source: ANA-MPA
