Greek authorities on Sunday located a sailing boat with 41 refugees and migrants on board, following a search-and-rescue operation launched by the coast guard and the EU border agency Frontex in response to a distress call to the European emergency number 112.

The rescued refugees and migrants are now being escorted to the port of Katakolo, where they will be temporarily housed. According to the latest information, they may be transferred to a Frontex vessel since the sailing boat has started to take on water. The call for help was made by mobile phone by some of those on board the vessel, who reported that it had run into trouble, launching a search initially focused on the Pylos area.(Source: ANA-MPA)
