CPI rose by 1.6% in April

According to ELSTAT, CPI (national index) rose by 1.6% in April, for a 4th consecutive month, while it also increased by 0.6% m-o-m.

The sectors with the most notable y-o-y movements were transportation (+6.8%) and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+5.8%), while the annual average rate of CPI change remained unchanged over the trailing 12 months.

Also the harmonized CPI also increased by 1.6% y-o-y and by 0.7% m-o-m. Over the trailing 12 months, the HICP rose by 0.6%.
