The European Commission will continue its support to the Cyprus settlement talks, Maarten Verwey, Director General of the Structural Reform Support Service of the European Commission, said on Wednesday after his meeting with President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akıncı.

“I had today the opportunity to discuss the Commission’s support to the Cyprus settlement talks with the leaders, following their joint request to President Juncker in mid-2015. The Commission has been organizing since then 34 missions to Cyprus by more than 200 officials to assist the bi-communal ad hoc committee for EU preparation; this is an ongoing effort,” he said.(source: CNA)
