There is an investigation into a cargo container that is believed to have been set up as a “political kiosk” by members of an anarchist group in the city center in Exarchia Square.

The mission behind the container is to spread propaganda about the “mafias, state repression and social cannibalism,” the anarchist group said according to ekathimerini.com.

The investigation comes at the orders of an Athens prosecutor and has been delegated to the Security Police, according to the Greek newspaper, Eleftheros Typos. The investigation is to determine if the container being placed in a public square constitutes as an illegal occupation of public property, or if any zoning violations are being committed by its presence.

State and local officials have not been able to conclude who is responsible for the removal of the container and have been having ongoing discussions about intervening for some time.
