Dimitrious Gargasoulas, the 26-year-old man accused of driving his car into a crowd last January killing six people and injuring dozens of pedestrians in Melbourne’s CBD appeared in court Wednesday via video-link.

Gargasoulas’ lawyers claimed that the accused was “too ill to attend” court in person although he did manage to interrupt the court several times saying “All the law is illegal,” despite warnings from his lawyer that the media was covering the hearing, according to neoskosmos.com.

Gargasoulas went on to make the following statement:

“Your Honor, I wanted to tell you something, Aboriginal law is identical to Muslim law…Your Honor, did you know the Muslim faith is the correct faith according to the whole world? And I am not guilty.”

Before his video-link was turned off, Gargasoulas proclaimed: “I am the savior.”

Court was adjourned until May and in December Gargasoulas will have to once again appear in court for a separate hearing where he will be facing six charges of murder, 28 charges of attempted murder as well as conduct endangering life for his actions in Melbourne’s CBD last January.
