For Fifth Night in a Row Riot Police Come Under Attack in Athens

On Wednesday evening for the fifth night in a row riot police at various stations in the center of Athens in the district of Exarchia came under attack.

Groups of young men attacked the riot police stationed on Harilaou Trikoupi Street guarding the offices of the political party PASOK in what appeared to be organized intervals. The separate groups attacked the police by throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at them.

The attacks started around 10 pm and lasted until after midnight.

There were no arrests made following the incident, however, police briefly remanded four individuals before releasing them.
