On Monday the police and Coast Guard officers in the port of Piraeus were looking into the circumstances of the death of a Syrian refugee. The 25-year-old man was found hanged from a kiosk close to one of the passenger terminals for the ferries at the port.

Sources have reported that there is no word yet if the Syrian refugee committed suicide, or what the motives for such an act could have possibly been. All that is known is that the undocumented migrant was found by a passerby who told the authorities.

An investigation into the circumstances of the refugee’s death is ongoing, sources reported.
