Panagiotis Pavlopoulos, head of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras office for European Union and International relations, expressed his total opposition to a multi-speed Europe.
In an interview with the Athens Macedonian News Agency on Monday, Pavlopoulos pointed out the dangers for the EU future “because we are experiencing every day the conservative backslide to an a la carte Europe, something that no progressive citizen can accept.”
In parallel he highlighted Tsipras’ position for a Europe of multiple selection and underlined that the dominating political forces in Europe focus, even rhetorically, on a change of EU’s architecture to avoid the policy changes. “This Europe can’t embrace the new times as many speeds as it changes,” he concluded.
