Greek police questioned a 24-year-old man on Monday, suspected of robbing several taxi drivers in Aghia Varvara, a western suburb of Athens. Another 24-year-old man is also suspected of having a connection with the same attacks.
Police say that the two men are alleged to have hailed taxis in various parts of the Attica region telling cab drivers that they are heading to Aghia Varvara, but instead lead them to secluded areas where they would threaten them with knives and steal valuables and cash.
The two suspects face charges of robbery, causing grievous bodily harm and being part of a criminal organization.
