The Seleni Institute was established in 2011 by Nitzia and George Logothetis with the goal of destigmatizing mental health and wellness issues. The non-profit organization deals with “real-life issues” and provide services to address the emotional health of women, men, and their families. It is located at 207 East 94th Street in New York.

This week, the Seleni Institute was honored to welcome the First Lady of the Republic of Cyprus, Mrs. Andri Anastasiades, to tour its facility and learn more about both Seleni and the mental health issues faced by women and families.

Mrs. Anastasiades, joined by the Accountant General of Cyprus, Ms. Rea Georgiou, and the Consulate General of Cyprus, Ambassador Vasilis Philippou, toured the center, including Seleni’s individual psychotherapy wing, administrative offices, and group support rooms. Mrs. Anastasiades also had the opportunity to visit with mothers and babies attending the breastfeeding support clinic.

After meeting Seleni staff and clinicians, Mrs. Anastasiades and her esteemed delegation sat with Seleni founder and interim CEO Nitzia Logothetis, chief operating officer Annika Sten Pärson, and chief of staff Rebecca Benghiat. They discussed Seleni’s 360-degree approach to supporting women and families through care, advocacy, research support, and professional training.

“Seleni’s model of care is unique, and it was an honor to share our approach and philosophy with Mrs. Anastasiades,” said Ms. Logothetis. “Her devotion to women and families is long-standing, and we’re grateful to add our voice to an international conversation about making a difference in the lives of generations of families who need support.”
