CPI rose in January

According to ELSTAT, CPI (national index) rose by 1.2% in January, for the first time in 47 months, while it fell by 0.8% m-o-m. The sectors with the most notable y-o-y movements were transportation (+4.6%) and housing (+3.6%), while the annual average rate of CPI change remained negative at -0.7% over the trailing 12 months.

Additionally, the harmonized CPI increased by 1.5% y-o-y, while it fell by 0.5% m-o-m. Over the trailing 12 months, the HICP rose by 0.1%.
