In a TV interview yesterday the Eurogroup head ruled out the prospect of a full agreement at the upcoming Eurogroup on 20th Feb, reiterating the need for the IMF to “be on board”. On its part, the Greek govt seemed to harden its stance yesterday, with the govt spokesman contending that Greece aims for a deal without further austerity while also calling for a more “realistic and constructive stance” being adopted by the IMF so that negotiations can be concluded.

In this context, European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs P. Moscovici is expected in Athens today and will hold meetings with both the PM and the FinMin in an attempt to break the deadlock.
